 Why Feliz over Blum?
« Result #1 on Dec 11, 2009, 8:20am »

Why did we go after this guy? A friend sent me the comparable stats below and after looking at them, I don't see what the problem would have been in just making Blum our everyday starter?

Career
AVG OBP SLG OPS
Feliz .254 . 293 .422 .715

Blum .250 .310 .387 .697

Last two years
AB HR RBI
Blum 706 24 102
Feliz 1,088 26 140

Lifetime Fielding Pct.

Feliz .964
Blum .968

Career vs. RH Pitching
AVG OBP SLG OPS
Feliz .252 .288 .417 .704
Blum .252 .312 .389 .701

And he's double play prone

Miggy's gone too according to Wade. Miggy was our anchor. Without him in the lineup, Batting averages around his spot in the batting order could plummet. There’s no one to pitch around anymore.

Astros are actually shopping for a third baseman and trying to reduce Blum’s role to a utility infielder. Did they not see what he could accomplish as an everyday starter last season? Perhaps they are afraid of injury.

And it looks like the Astros are going to back up the money truck for LaTroy Hawkins, possibly even offer him a multi-year contract, which was the deal-breaker with Miggy and Valverde…

Pretty nice 1.71 ERA in 89 games last season, but I just don’t see LaTroy as an everyday closer. Hope I’m wrong.

Not in it to make a buck?...There is not an owner in sports that is not in it to make a buck, and they all put that first. And, speaking of making a buck....nobody makes more bucks than the Yankees.

That said....Mc Clain makes the continued mistake of listening to non baseball people like Pam Gardner.I wish he would swallow pride and call Hunsinger back and offer him any support he wanted.

McLain is not a bad owner...he has one of the highest payrolls.
Our problem has been dumbsh*ts in charge, not tightwads.

What's up, b*tches!!! I'm with James...screw the No Fun League. I've evolved into a Longhorn fan in the years that I have been here in Austin and exclusively watch college football now. How have ya'll been? I had one HELL of a busy YEAR in 2009 and kinda lost touch with you guys...my apologies...Had to do a google search to find this place again! James, SA Doug, Texiban, Vega, JB..et al...how has everyone been? Where the F**K is Coach? Doing prison time for that goat he fell in love with at the King Ranch last summer?

Don't know if I spelled his name right but it doesn't matter. This is one mean sumb*tch! I have been following him for a while now and this fight made a real believer out of me. I haven't seen a pitt bull attitude like his since Tyson was a youngster. Pound for pound, this little man from the Phillipines is the best!

Yep. A grocery selling carnival barker like Draytie will not win. He doesn't know how baseball operates and he keeps on putting his grubby little paws into the GM's picinic basket. Could be worse though, he could be Al Davis! :o

 Obama bows to royalty
« Result #8 on Nov 16, 2009, 11:46am »

What is the matter with this idiot? No President of the United States has ever bowed to foreign royalty in the 234 years this nations has been in existence. This jack ass has now done it TWICE.

First to the King of Saudi Arabia, a known terrorist haven, and now to the Emperor of a nation that sucker punched us to get us into WW2!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sick and tired of this morons' agenda of turning the United States into a weak and ineffectual player on the world scene.

If you are tired of it as well, get off you asses next November and VOTE every one of the House and Senate members OUT of office and let's take our country back form those who would destroy it!

And the Astros have yet to win a world series. We got in one and got beat badly. Are there any hopes to being an Astro fan with an owner that treats the team as if it were a part of his grocery business? I think not. I do not believe that with Drayton as owner we will ever win a world series. Not while there are owners like George Steinbrenner that are in it to win, not to make a buck.

Have they signed Wesley yet to be the sixth starter? I would hate to lose talent like Wesley's.
