I don't think O looked THAT bad... He gave up three runs. It wasn't his best outing but I'd call it average. It could've been a whole lot worse. A couple of hits in some key opportunities and this game would've been a lot closer.
Lets see how we look at the all-star break before saying "same ole, same ole". Jake Peavy is, after all, one of the best pitchers in the league.

I hate Pence hitting 2nd, i prefer to see Loretta there.

Pence is too aggressive for the 2-hole. He'd be good in 3 or 6. But he is useless at 2.
