I would try and trade these players:
1. Jennings (awful trade for astros) 2. Woody (no one will go after this guy) 3. Wheeler 4. Loretta 5. Lamb (I like this guy) 6. Wandy 7. White (release the guy) 8. Miller 9. Fire Garner 10. Biggio should not play any longer after his 3,000 hits
I would not mind watching this team play:
C Munson 1b Berkman 2b Burke 3b Ensberg SS Bruntlett lf Lee cf Pence rf Scott
Rotation: Oswalt Wandy SAmpson Woody Gutierrez
Closer:
Lidge
Set up
Qualls
Let Ausmus manage the team or Cooper
Doing this we see the youth develop.
If we are able to trade Wandy, then Albers should pitch.
Now, starts by Ausmus, Palmeiro, Biggio, Loretta, Lamb are waste for this team. Same with starts from Woody and Jennings.
Teams that could use Lamb:
1. Oakland 2. San Diego 3. Angels 4. Dodgers 5. Phillies 6. Brewers 7. Yankees
Teams that could use Loretta
1. A's 2.Mets
TEams that could use Wheeler
1. Detroit 2. Cleveland 3. Yankees 4. Red Sox 5. Mets 6. Phillies 7. Arizona 8. A's
We need to improve our minor league system and we can get quality from these 3 guys.
Maybe we can get something for Jennings, teams in need of a starter:
1. Mets 2. A's 3. M's
I would try and work a trade with M's:
Adam Jones for Jennings.

Keep Burke and Ensberg but trade Lamb and Loretta??
I dont get you love for Burke or Ensberg? They are both trash and should be traded for whatever they bring. Burke is never going to be a good player. I wish you could see that.

Look smarty, Burke has NOT had a chance to play. Second, you understand nothing about baseball, Lamb is a free agent, SAME with Loretta. Third, Ensberg is not playing regular baseball so we don't really know if he can play. Now, dumb dumb, why keep Loretta, an old guy over a young guy like Burke? ? Why keep Lamb (who should not play 3b but 1b instead) over Ensberg? ?? Yes, Lamb should plaY if we were a CONTENDER, but WE ARE NOT. Are you capable of understanding that? ?/ Burke EVERYTIME THAT HE HAS PLAYED has done good, BUT THE a$$h*le MANAGING THE TEAM INSTEAD OF PLAYING BURKE is playing Palmeiro, Biggio or Bruntlett. We really have a great organization, MANY TIMES I THINK YOU ARE THE GM ON THIS TEAM.

And by the way, with Purpand Garner ding an AB job, i will not watch another game this year because is a WASTE of time, really. Why in hell i care to see old guys play over young guys with a team that is going to finish last or next to last? ?? Is like the Royals, they have Billy Butler not playing, THATS STUPID.

Trading the most consistent two guys doesnt make sense(lamb and loretta) Then again their season is over so they should entertain the idea. Neither probably wants to be here as they would play elsewhere..i do agree in part though
regardless of who is going to play what i think they should get the chance to play...If Burke is going to be the 2b for the next 6 years then he needs to be in there now....its tough though to play for the astros as these guys are always looking over their shoulders. A few come to the game and wonder where they will bat and what position they will play..
The real problem continues to be Phil Garner

Well, except for 2004, 2005, most of 2006, and so far 2007.
Sorry, but when a guy's hit .255/.327/.383 in over 900 plate appearances I personally wouldn't say "everytime that he has played has done good'. To each his own, I suppose.

Pence never should have been sent to RR at the end of Spring Training. He was the best hitter down in Florida.......on any team.

Probably not, but they were determined to give Burke a starting job and based on what we saw of Scott the 2nd half of 2006, they figured he was going to be really good again. Had they kept him up with the team, where does he play? It wouldn't have done him a lick of good to come up and sit on the bench.

The other guys put in their time and deserved a chance to start..Those guys in spring training dont give a sh*t. Take a few cuts and head out for a round of golf and happy hour.
