Has anyone heard the rumor about Tim Purpura applying to be the new GM of the St. Louis Cardinals? I think we should start a petition giving Timmy as high recommendation for the job.

They can keep Carpenter, he is junk now. It would be a great move for the Cards to get something for Carpenter and get out of paying that contract.

Well, if they traded Carpenter, I'd hope the Astros would get in line for him. Last time a team thought he was 'junk', Toronto dumped him and St.Louis looked very smart in taking a chance on him.

Carpenter may not pitch in 2008 and if he does it will be late 2008. How many arm injuries can a guy have and keep coming back? He had surgery on his shoulder and now Tommy John on his elbow. I would say he is a long shot to be Cy Young material again. His pitching arm has been all kinds of trouble the last 2 years.
We will see.
I love how Astros fans are more optimistic about the Cardinals than Cardinals fans... LMAO.
