For the first time in awhile, I can't seem to bet very enthused about this season. When you have Oswalt as your only decent starting pitcher, you are in trouble. Backe will be inconsistent. Wandy will probably keep doing OK at home and getting hammered on the road. Management doesn't have the balls to eat Woody's contract and get rid of him even though it is apparent he can't do the job. Having to depend on Chacon or Sampson is also scary. We will have to really have a great offense to stay in the race.

And relievers are not reliable either.

The Astros are just not very interesting right now. Once the season starts I'm sure we will be hearing from everyone.
Draytie won't eat another contract for the time being. I think the idea of guaranteed contracts is ridiculous anyway. Baseball and basketball need to just get tough on the contracts like the NFL where only the signing bonus is guaranteed.

The relievers have been a real disappointment so far in the spring. Quite frankly we all knew that the starters were going to come up short but most of us counted on the relievers and the hitting to keep us in the games.
The season starts soon and then we will know for sure.

The pitching is definitely a concern. It is a shame that Wade didn't get at least one more starter.

who would that starter be? If the offense can keep them in the hunt, wade will pick up a good starter from someone out of the hunt....after last seasons horrible offense, i think they have made great moves.. im looking forward to seeing boo boo berkman dropped down to about the 6th hole. he can cry and pout down there...he isnt even the best offensive ball player anymore so i dont think he has room to be telling people whats what
