Why suspend Woody? This a$$h*le couldn't hurt a hitter if he hit him in the head with his best stuff. I've seen liittle leaguers throw as hard as this clown. Just eat his contract and release him. He's toast.

Problem is that is a 2 year contract.
Purpura should be fired, way too many mistakes in only 2 1/2 years.
Each year this team is winning fewer games. The minors is a mess.
There is no way this guy should be a GM from any team.
Awful GM

Vega... a 2 year deal isnt a problem. If they want to release him it doesnt matter if it is a 10 year deal. I dont know why you keep saying.. " its a 2 year deal". He is going to get paid no matter what. If he keeps going the way he is going for much longer, he will be released or retire.

wow, you can't see that???
You don't release guys with 1 1/2 years to play with that big contract.
Astrubbudy, i would not want you as my GM, really.
By the way, THERE IS NO WAY I SIGN WOODY FOR 2 YEARS, no way.

Vega.. OK.. so you really think that is Woody is sporting a 10.00 ERA and cant get out of the 3rd inning they will just keep sending him out there?>?
YOU wouldnt want me as a GM when I am saying I will do what YOU think this team needs to do?
I damn sure wish you would make up your mind on what you want for this Astros team. Funny stuff...
Yes, you can release a guy with 1.5 years left on his contract.

You can release ANY player at ANY time. If Woody keeps pitching like he is now, the Astros have no choice but to get rid of him somehow.

Yes, you can release a guy with 1.5 years left on his contract. You can't if you are McLane and your a$$h*le puckers up every time you spend a nickle.

FWIW, the batter wasn't even hit. Or at least all indications that I saw was that he wasn't hit. So unless you are ejecting Woody for throwing behind the batter, he shouldn't have been ejected. Either way, the batter shouldn't have been on 1st, his run wouldn't have scored and the oucome of the game may have been different.

To be honest, you should be at least warned for throwing behind a batter. The events from the night before got Woody an erec.. err...ejection.
