Petco is the modern day Colt .45 Stadium/Astrodome --- they all shut down even the best offenses. Psychologically, this was the WORST place to have had to start the season with this retro-50's line-up. It could take a week to recover. Seriously, I envision 4 consecutive shut-outs.

Really, Pence is the anti-Ensberg. He will simply not take enough pitches or walk enough to be effective in the 2-hole.

Thing is, Loretta should be hitting second instead, he hits to right field, will go to left when necessary and waits for pitches, giving bourn an opportunity to steal. Hey, will Berkman hit a homer this month? ? lol |
