I think Villareal and Brocail are doing the job.
Pence started very slow but is starting to hit.

Agree on Bourn, Towles and Sampson, especially the last one.

Bourn, the thing is Erstad is hitting very good.
Towles, well, he should stay, but give Ausmus MORE at bats, he is hitting better than Towles right now.
Bourn is starting to hit but Erstad should be playing right now because he is doing great.

Now, I am celebrating today, first Celtics won (I am a Celtics fan) and second, we came back against a very good pitcher and won a great game.

It was a great game in spite of some of the horrible playing. I think it is bad luck to get too positive. Our team is still pathetic and will choke against any good pitcher who is pitching well. We have none of the above except maybe Valverde has really come on.

Actually, we are scoring runs against guys like Peavy, Randy Johnson and Sheets, we are hitting, is the starting pitching and Borkowki.

Last 2 times this jerk has come on with men on base he has allowed a homer.

First vs ARIZONA and now with Brewers.

Now, the question is, what to do with the rotation?


Hitting, doing good as expected.
Bullpen, started slowly, but is doing good as we should expect. Valverde, Brocail, Villareal, Geary, Wright and Byrdak are good, Borkowski and Mohler are not.

Rotation:

Oswalt, not pitching good.
Backe, not pitching good.
Sampson, AWFUL.
Wandy, good but injured.
Chacon, doing much better than expected.

We need Backe to improve, send Sampson to triple a, no way Cassell is going to do worse than him.


AND BIG SURPRISE, defense is doing very good.

I think we cannot push Backe. He is going to do what he does and we hope that is alright. I think Backe has to not feel pressure which will give him the chance to improve. If we are going to keep him on the roster we have to hope that he only slowly improves and is pitching well by playoff time if we have a chance to get in it which I doubt. Oswalt, you never know what he is going to do. But you have to hope he is holding back saving for a possilble playoff situation. Sampson should be disposed of. Wandy is no good to us since he is injured. Chacon is not a good pitcher. We can only hope he will keep us in the games. Cassel is pretty bad. Worse that Chacon, possibly as bad as Sampson. Any time we put him out there a possible blowout is in the works. We are in trouble in this department. Also the relief has improved but that could be temporary. I am not talking about hitting. It may be doing alright but you will never get me to admit it. Everytime I do it goes bad. It is bad.
