I am concerned that we will not see Moehler get the starting nod. It is looking like Rodriguez may be expected to come back and Sampson is going to continue in the rotation. I thought it would be a big challenge for the Astros to try to win with Moehler or Cassel again. Drayton McClane likes those kinds of big challenges. I am surprised at him spurning the opportunity to try to win with Moehler. Anyway we still have Sampson to look forward to.

One thing you can say for Draytie..........he is really spending the big bucks on this starting rotation.

Cassel is definitely better than Sampson. Sampson isn't much better than Woody was when we released him.

Cassel has only had two starts for the Astros. Sampson is awful, I will be the first to admit. But awful pitchers are a dime a dozen and Drayton has lots of nickels and dimes. I think Cassel has yet to prove himself better than awful.

Moehler is finally getting a start against Derek Lowe. The Dodgers ought to be feeling pretty good about this one. I think it is kind of surprising that we dropped Cassel and are pitching Moehler and Sampson. Cassel at least kind of held us in the game when he pitched. Maybe Moehler will surprise us.

We're continuing throwing out our big guns. Homer Sampson is today's hero. I was reading a little on it and Sampson has pitched well. Cooper noted that he was good at the first of last year. He has had one good game this year. After last night anything can happen.
