It looks like Trader Ed has done it again. LaTroy Hawkins? Are you serious? I guess it is possible for this deal to work out but what the hell are they doing? It makes no sense.
It did get me to thinking though about what the team would of looked like this year if Trader Ed had of just held fast and said that we need to play the hand we were dealt and sign some more help this coming year. We would of had an outfield of Lee, Pence, and Scott with Erstad in reserve. Our infield would of been Berkman, Matsui, Brunlett, and Wiggington. The biggest improvement would of been the bullpen where we would of had Lidge closing, Qualls as set up man and Sarfate, Albers, Wright, Brydak, and Sampson.
A team composed that way would of had better results than the current team and we would of still had our prospects and Drayton would of still had a few more bucks in his pocket.
