I actually feel sorry for him. This is just something of biblical proportions.

I will say this - at least he picked himself up and got out of it. Last year he wouldn't have done that.

screw Roger...but I Have to say....if Lidge struck out every man from now till doomsday, it would not make up for the damage he has done... come into the game ready to get the first and second batters g**damnit, game is already tied or lost by the time you get "warmed up!"

Vega.. didnt you start a thread not to long ago calling for Lidge to be the closer again???
Now after he is, throws 1 bad pitch and he is a clown and should be traded?
Can you say flip/flop ?

dude, lidge should be the closer because HE WON IT BY PITCHING GOOD BUT, first chance and he screws it? Is that flip flop for you? No, IS CALLED REALITY. He was doing good, wheeler was SUCKING so you WIN OPPORTUNITIES, unless your name is Burke or Biggio that happens just the OPPOSITE.

I was wanting Lidge to do well so we could trade him before he blew up. He f**ked that plan up with the first batter he faced.

And the worst thing was it was on a 0-2 pitch.

All his trouble usually came on 0-2.
I think what he does in the next few games will determine his status, not one pitch.

Too bad Lidge doesn't get extended the same courtesy as Biggio. That way, he could give up homers and blow saves at least three times a week and still keep his job. Biggio couildn't field a ground ball if it were handed to him and he keeps his job.

I think later in Lidge's career when he gets close to 1000 blown saves, he will get the same courtesy Biggio gets.
