Yeah, it's still on but no one is posting. I guess the season is over? I said it at the beginning of the season that the 'Stros would be a .500 team at best. At least they aren't letting me down!

I'm spending more time in the doctors office lately than at home it seems. Got another epidural scheduled for Sep. 3. I didn't think sciatic nerve related problems in the back could be this damn painful.

sh*t, sciatic nerve pain is the worst next to a bad tooth ache. I have chronic back problems myself. I'm waiting for them to be able to clone a new back! I need one! ;D

I have been on vacation and am starting back to school plus working a full time job. It is kind of tough on an old man who is trying to support his kids and keep them going through school. Shouldn't whine though, I am still alive.

sh*t, sciatic nerve pain is the worst next to a bad tooth ache. I have chronic back problems myself. I'm waiting for them to be able to clone a new back! I need one! ;D I didn't know that before but I know it now. I get little sleep because of it. The pain is constant and my entire right leg from the hip down is involved. I've been going to the same doctor for 20 years. He sent me to a specialist who shot steroids straight into my lower spine twice and it didn't do a damn bit of good.....so I'm sitting hear all weekend including the Monday holiday waiting to get my second epidural - second dose of steroids which is to be shot straight into my lower spine again...after which I'll have to wait 7 to 10 days before I can expect any relief - that is if it actually works this time. In the mean time, my family doctor whom both my wife and I have been using for 20 years has apparently decided that I must have a high tolerance for pain because getting a prescription from him to help alleviate the pain between the two sessions with the specialist is more difficult it seems than buying the sh*t on the street.

James...I have dealt with that sciatic nerve deal, and it aint fun. My opinion is that the only relief you are gonna get is thru physical therapy....NOT SURGERY!!!...I was in PT for 6 weeks thinking I was wasting my time, when it all just went away. I was told that was the way it works...maybe I was just lucky, but to clear that up I would have slept with an egg under the bed every night whilt hanging chicken feet off the cieling.
Just remember that every DR that advises surgery makes a lot of $$$ on it.My own family DR advised me to never have back surgery as it becomes Biblical....you know...this begats that, which begats something else....best of luck

sadoug- Sorry about your so-called "tour of duty" with sciatica. Unless you've experienced it no one can imagine how physically debilitating it can be.
Here I am punching keys at 3:20 am because I can't sleep. I don't have another session scheduled until next Wednesday and I'm not getting back surgery at my age.
That's what I couldn't figure out. Why am I not seeing a physical therapist? It's probably because the insurance won't pay for it until I've had these other sessions first.

James...there is a book.."Treat your Own Back"....it is cheap and available through Amazon and Barns and noble I think...It isnt a panacia, but it does explain a whole lot about what is going on...At any rate, it cant hurt.
Stay in the buggy my friend.
