Man, what is it with the Astros wanting to sign players past their prime? First it was Tejada, then Hampton and now Pudge? No wonder no one is picking the Astros to finish out of the basement in the Central!

OK. It's final. The 'Stros have signed Pudge to a 1 year, 1.5 mil contract. A lot less than what I thought they would give him. He hit around .270 with 7HR and 37 RBI's last season.
Let's hope he can improve on that.

The guy hasnt had a good year since he was in Texas..having said that pudge at 37 and .270 is better than towles or quientero

but Pudge at 217...which is what he hit last year for the yanks is no better than anyone else.

They might as well go the distance and sign Rafael Palmeiro and Jose Canseco too, thus taking over as the "Roid City" Capitol of the big leagues from the Texas Rangers.
We could then rename the team the Houston Ast-Roids.

sheffield is available now..we already have the oldest team in baseball..why not get him too..he can carry around the teams icy hot and canes
