Putting Fulchino in for Oswalt was absolutely moronic tonight. This guy is a moron. It seems like when people start screaming he starts improving but how could you give up a game like that. Put someone in that at least gives us a chance.

Can't be any worse than his bad moves (or lack of) in Chicago last week. Cooper was looking at a tie game in the top of the 9th with runners on first and second with nobody out and has the weak hitting Michaels swing away.
Then in the bottom of the 9th with the game still tied, the Cubs have the winning run on second base with less than two outs and Cooper tells his pitcher to pitch to Soriano instead of walking him to set up the DP. Soriano is a notorious bad ball hitter so he laces a base hit to right field on a pitch up around his eyes to drive in the winning run.
How can someone like Cooper who is such a willing victim be helped or be expected to improve? Cooper sets himself up to be sucker punched by the opposition then wonders why his team is still losing.
There are two things Cecil Cooper is failing miserably as a manager. One is to stay the hell out of the way and let the players play. Two, which is just as important as one, put your players in a position to succeed. Instead, we have Cooper making bonehead moves that sets his team up to fail.
Sometimes, I think Cooper makes moves just to be doing something so that he will look like he's earning his paycheck. The reason being is because most of the time, he appears more concerned about not spitting tobacco juice on his shoes in the dugout than keeping his head in the game.

But Drayton won't get rid of him, he makes the right amount. Just like Drayton has repeatedly said that Oswalt and Berkman are untouchable. That's ridiculous. EVERY player is trade bait when you suck as bad as the Astros. Of, you have a "No Trade" clause, then I guess you SIT until you rescind it. How's that pine helping your stats?
