No, you will have to rebuild right here. There are other sites but this one is where some people used to hang out. Ray Kerby freaked out because I think about politics, or atheism or some other crazy reason. Astrobuddy used to come back now and then but he was one that I couldn't get to not take things seriously. Both of them did some wierd sh*t. That is about all that I know. They didn't do it to me. Everybody here used to love me, or perhaps that is a slight exaggeration. Let's say that 5% thought I was tolerable and the the other 95% didn't like me. That is as close to love as I will probably ever get.

There is some other guy that was always mad at me that has a website somewhere I have heard. But nothing compares to the kind of mad that these guys at this website were at me. I have certain tastes in mad, and this here was just the right kind of mad. No one ever questioned my loyalty to the Astros though. That is why I still hang around along with some of these guys that used to hang around here. I just love their style of justice.

Interesting to hear about those two. I don't remember much about the forum drama, but I do seem to remember Kerby hooking me up with radio links back in the 90's when I was on astrosconnection. After a bunch of a$$h*les took over astrosconnection, I started reading the old ezboard forum, then I checked back later and all hell had broken loose with Speedy and the rest of those babies.
I've never posted much in the past, because everything that needed to be said was already being discussed here. So I mainly lurked. I'll start posting my thoughts now.

It has been so long, I am not sure what my name was....maybe hillcountry.....maybe KV Doug...
AB was finally banned for life from this site by Coach. Chandler has a pretty good site that is more into baseball talk and less into argueing.
If James was to pop back in, I am sure he could shed some light on this
At any rate, welcome back Jim Dooley

Chandler was the one that got mad at me. I have to admit, I like a place with a little bit of an edge to it. People normally get mad at me about politics, but politics is not the reason I am here. I like baseball and the Astros. This has always been my place. That is why I have been trying to keep it alive.

Yeah...speedy, astro girl..JB's favorite, Holly, Major Mal, Houston Buff, .....all gone now, of course, so it appears is this site. Nope, not Dennis. I was kinda like Jim Dooley. I did alot of lurking due to all the fightig back in the day. I'd come out and pop off here and there.

I think its funny how all the silly fighting went on and still does. While the other two have their own places now and one is very active and the other is almost as quite as here. I have always been a lurker for years with the occasional post. It seems most in here and on the other sites know each, not just from the board and I am always the outsider

I thought the fighting was kind of funny. I thought it was too bad that people took it seriously. It was easy just to kind of be entertained by it.

Some of those threads were simply a case of grab the popcorn and enjoy. ;D My favorite poster for quite a while was Mr. Bitter and his 3rd person posts. Classic.

I don't know where Chandler ended up and I am surprised that vega has vanished from sight. It's not like him. I wonder if health issues have kept him away.
Mr. Bitter was absolutely funny always speaking in the third person.
I think it would be a big boost to this forum if the Astros could field a team that had a clue how to win consistently. As it stands right now, I have trouble supporting a team that has a bunch of lazy over-paid ball-players.
Of course, with the way McLane penny-pinched the minor league system it's no wonder the Astros farm system is in the toilet.
If anyone has vega's e-mail address, I wish you'd send him a note. I cannot fathom him not wanting to bust a gut blasting the way this team has gone into the toilet unless something were wrong.

I don't have Vega's email but I believe he switched his allegience to Tampa Bay or something like that. He was pretty angry with the Astros organization. I can't switch teams. It is just impossible for me. But I have to admit, Drayton is a hard owner to stick with. It seems like he had so much success putting together that World Series pitching staff that he has stayed with the same team theory and it hasn't functioned. The difference is that he has invested in hitting rather than pitching and expected that to be a winner. The Clemens, Pettite deal was a once in a lifetime opportunity. You don't have the chance to bring in a pitching tandem like that every day. It will probably never happen again in fact. For the most part a team like Houston has to develop its own talent. He can't figure that out. He is too fixed on that deal and the World Series appearance.

I miss posting here too. I just haven't had the time. If someone wants to run the board and keep it updated, I have no problem giving you access to do so.
FWIW I always thought the fights were fun, hell I was involved in most of them. It was fun until AB took it too far and did his undercover work. AB liked to get involved in slinging zingers he just wasn't very good at it and got clowned a lot. I tried to give the guy a chance here but he's hopeless.
Speedy was / is a little Napolean wannabe and he is also a little drama queen. He'd get so worked up over JB's antics that it was hysterical to me. I saw him in person a couple of times and and the frustration with JB was evident in Speedy's face when he spoke of him. It's like he was trying to campaign to get everyone on his side. I feel sorry for the midget actually.
My favorite moment was when Ray Kerby came here and accused us of doctoring the header of the e-mail that announced Jedi's alleged death. Then Holly, of all people, came and made him look like an idiot by discrediting him. The post that Ken made the next day directed to Ray had tears rolling down my face because I was laughing so hard. It had something to do with the internet and lawnmowers.
James, I even had fun ragging on you too. LOL You gave it back pretty good so it was a challenge finding new ways to irritate you.
I post sometimes on Clutchfans and I will try to post here when I can.
I enjoyed the old place as much as you guys.
