Bourn has been pretty good this year. That was a big homerun tonight. I thought last year that he would never amount to anything but I am happily starting to be proved wrong. Hopefully he'll keep it up.

maybe you didnt like the way bourne hit last year, but his defense was all star caliber. Now that he is hitting and walking, I think he has a terriffic future. We have 2 potential young stars in the outfield, and we havnt been able to say that since we has Cedeno and Watson

That was pretty much it, hitting. I am surprised at how much he has improved this year. I didn't think it could happen. And I am frankly surprised at how well Pence is hitting. We need to get a few more bats going and we should be a decent team if we don't have too many injuries in the pitching dept.

They had bourne play winter ball this year for the first time in his career, and...Berkman worked with him as well...it all paid off. Berkman taught him to lay back and wait for the pitch. Now he not only hits better, his walks have really gone up....props for Berkman.
I always thought Pench would hit. So many stars have gone through that "sophmore jinx" that I hoped, and hoped Pence would as well. What has surprised me about Pence was his arm in the outfield. He looks like he has a noodle arm style but he really gets it in there and very accurately. We may have the two best young outfielders in the game.
