to redeem himself tonight. I kind of believe he is about due to have a good game. He needs to keep himself out of trouble in the first inning. If we can win this game tonight it looks like we might have a good series.

If he could pitch against the Pirates every time, he'd win the Cy Young. I don't like a matchup between Hampton and Santana.

That is a tough one. I think we have a small chance if we stay in the game until late innings.

I should have added and if Hampton will help himself out with the bat. We need help with Berkman gone. So he hits a two run homer.

I will be darned if they didn't win that game. It is like they laid the golden egg right now. They got some lucky runs. Their bullpen is pretty good.

Except for Valverde, the pen was shaky last night. Pence saved Arias with that throw to the plate. Cooper left Hampton in the game too long. Mike did a great job with the bat and battled hard from the mound, but, at this point in his career, 5-6 innings is all you can expect from him.

But still, they have been squeaking by. I have been impressed by the pitching coach. I think he has been doing decently with people that aren't all that great, starters included. It is like you say, injuries are crucial and we have had enough of them.

That's what happen when I show some positivity. I should just be realistic and say our pitching will fold and we have too much hitting on the DL. One out of three against a losing team at home is pretty bad especially when we thought we were getting into the race. Our luck has run out.

Tonight was a great example. We have been lucky with our weak lineup. Our luck is just running out and our pitching can only hold out so long. I think we are in for a rough streak here. I hope I am wrong.
