The hitting is there now... the starting pitching has done a great job in this series against a much better hitting offense..Most of the guys on the M's hit relatively well coming in here and the only one leaving the same is ichiro...He's the ultimate hitting machine. The best pure hitter in baseball.. Dont come at me with OPS or any other nonsense. if you watch baseball you know this guy is more than likely getting hits....

I don't think the pitching was very good with the exception of Wandy. Now, finally we see Burke hitting 1st and had 2 hits including a double. Lamb hitting .308, any doubt this guy is a better hitter than Scott? ?

Well, he got nothing but singles and didn't score a single run in 3 games even though he went 9 for 13. "Pure hitters" have a lot going for them, although I don't think playing on championship teams is one of them. I'd sure trade three of those little singles for a well-timed double.

again with the petty...do people actually not read whats said? since when is a pure hitter considered an rbi champion? lets look at it this way...his job isnt to drive in runs..his job is to get on base..i rest my case..

I presume you are referring to my post. You might re-read it. I didn't say ONE WORD about RBIs. I did mention RUNS SCORED. Ichiro got 9 hits in 13 at bats. He didn't score a single run

And that is Ichiro's fault because of.......................? Ichiro did his job, he set the table. It's up to the rbi guys to knock him in. What, do they have 7 Morgan Ensbergs on that team?

Because when all you hit is a single, you have 3 bases to reach before you score a run. When you hit a double, all you have is 2. When you hit a triple, all you have is one. And when you hit a HR, 99.999% of the time, you score a run. When all you hit is singles, you set up the double-play, which usually destroys an inning. As terrible as Biggio has been this year, Ichiro hasn't really done all that much more than Biggio when it comes to WINNING GAMES ---namely scoring runs and driving in runs. Certainly, in Biggio's prime from 1994-1999 (age 28-33) he was a better hitter and ballplayer than Ichiro has been from 2001-2006 (age 27-32).

thats flawed logic, dude..how many triples are hit in a single year and how many are hit by the same guy? Triples are more rare than homeruns...lets get past that for a second though...he also has 19 stolen bases so common sense dictates that puts him in scoring position, no? He is in the top 10 ,in AL ,for run scoring. so if guys behind them do their job, he will score..Like Tbone said, there's deadweight behind him somewhere(ie sexson)
edited to add..yes i know granderson has a ridiculous amount of triples but thats not the point so dont bother with the BS
