I don't think we can win with him, so why keep him? No use having a closer when you don't have starters who can keep you in the game. Anyway, I wouldn't be offended if they let him go.

Your statement reminde me of one of the funniest things I ever read about sports....It was from back in the days before free agency when players couldnt switch teams, and really got screwed around by the owners.
Anyway, the pitcher had a year like Steve Carlton did when he won 27 games for the phillies that only won a total of about 65 games....The new contract the pitcher got offered was 5000less than the year before......he was furious and stormed into the general managers office saying if he didnt get a raise, he was gonna sit out the year(a players only choice).....
The GM told him ..."go ahead....we finished last with ya, and we can finish last without ya!"

Those were the days, we hoped they would never end, but they did. Probably if he had gotten a big contract, he would have ended up sucking the next year anyway and spent it on women and booze.

Those he would have ended up sucking the next year anyway and spent it on women and booze. From the late Tug McGraw regarding his baseball salary... "Ninety percent I'll spend on good times, women, and Irish Whiskey. The other ten percent I'll probably waste. "

I miss Tugg.
Too bad that his kid has to pollute the airwaves with his brand of "country" music!
YESSS, I'm back! big as life and twice as ugly!

Hurray! That was a great quote from Tug McGraw. I heard of some McGraw in country music. So he isn't any good?
