That is a pitcher that the Astros can't afford to lose. At least he is probably worth his salary. I am thinking though that he probably won't have many decent years left. He is one of those players, that what the heck?

Moehler is a great batting practice pitcher.

Signing Moehler was a gutsy move. Especially after the season that the Astros have had. It sends a message, more of the same.

Right, Iowafan. Now, if we have to hope that Hampton can get healthy and we can keep the awesome Chris Sampson.

Sampson was the most dependable pitcher we had before he got hurt. halk up another one to Cooper...If he could be what He was before he got hurt, I would be the first in line to try and sign him.

I guess I wouldn't say that it is impossible for Moeller to help us. It is just that we need at least 5 decent starters to go with him. As for Sampson, I wouldn't want to get rid of him yet. I have a feeling he will be back and do some good things. He is a guy that takes real careful management.

Unfortunately, he will probably have Scrap Heap garner doing the management!

I believe that a new pitching coach could do Moeller a world of good. Maybe he might know of a new salve to rub into his tired old arm.
