At this point the Astros have 70 runs scored while the next worst team is Baltimore in the American league which has 75. Baltimore has only 5 wins and is the worst team in baseball currently in the win column. Having Lance Berkman did not help in the Reds series. With Pence and Lee playing poorly and Pence in my opinion at his best isn't great at hitting, we are sitting ducks for any team to beat. We need hitters which we do not have. I personally don't see any reason to make changes except if someone offers something decent for Lee. Lee will not make a winner out of this team and despite what some fool newspaper writers say, this team will not compete for anything. I am in favor of getting rid of Lee. He doesn't contribute anywhere close to the amount that he is paid. I am also personally not sold on Pence. He could be decent for a team of hitters, but on our team where hitting is practically a lost art, he cannot be of great benefit. Matsui isn't worth holding onto either for practically the same reason.

Trading Berkman to the Rangers for good prospects. Trying to trade Lee, go young and improve your minor leagues and play for the future, because this team is not good, actually, is very bad, should finish next to last in our division.

This is a team that needs to rebuild. Those that want big salaries might as well leave. I hope attendence is dropping off at minute maid. I sure can't imagine spending money to see this team play. I don't have much interest in keeping Pence around. He has looked like the bottom side of some rebuilding project this year. What bothers me is he doesn't walk. He never has except last year at times he showed some signs of learning to work the count.

i like pence, but he is a number 6 or 7 hitter in a good team.
Norris, is a good reliever, he is NOT a starter.

What do you think about Chris Sampson. I felt like we gave up on him starting too quickly. Maybe he doesn't want to start.
That is what I think, this is not a good team and so he is doing us no good. It is pretty useless to have him batting .250 with no walks on a bad team.

sampson always have arm troubles, i think he is better as a reliever.
Now, i can see Mohler pitching in rotation in teh NEAR future

I agree that could happen soon. But Sampson has shown no more tendency to arm problems when he starts than when he relieves. Who knows?

This team is in deep trouble.
Why sign Feliz when you have Johnson in triple A? Why? I like Myers pick and love the Linstrom trade, hated the Matsui move because he is not a good hitter at all. Also loved the Bourn trade ( I knew we had to trade Lidge and liked the trade from day one, took one year to prove me right). Hated the Huff trade because i liked both guys we traded.

Bourn would make great trade bait to rebuild your farm system. Someone as fast as Bourn isn't going to stay fast forever and when he loses his speed he loses half his potential offensively. Right now we are wasting his great play. We have no one capable of bringing him home. At least we have been pathetic at it recently. I know I will get some people excited about this but we are rebuilding. And will we ever get to the point that we can use Bourn the way he should be before he is too old to be good to us anymore. I think it is doubtful. I am doubting that we can even put together a winner in 5 year at least that can contend. Therefore it makes you wonder if Bourn will be the player that he is now in 5 years.

For me Bourn is only untouchable player in our whole roster right now.
All the others, can go for the right prize.

Matsui was the star of that last game. He got one at bat and immediately got in position to score and noone could score him. Matsui, I believe is a better hitter than Keppinger. I could be wrong but those are my instincts.

I think that sound like a plan. I like those kind of situations, Blum also should start against more right handed pitchers.
