Not much to say about the first game. Rodriguez is not pitching well this year. I am sure that game was entertaining for Reds fans. It pretty much highlighted what we have been saying about the Astros. If we don't have the lowest paid baseball team in the major leagues then they are not getting good return on their dollar. This is possibly the worst team in the major leagues. And they are not going to get any better.

sighhhh.....and at AAA level, Boschovic and Johnson are eating 3 A pitching alive.Castro isnt ready yet, but those 2 need to be given a shot, and I cant think of a better time than now.

Thats why i did not like the Feliz signing, this year was suppose to be Johnson.

We need to keep Bourn and Pence and get rid of every other position player on the team. Neither of our catchers are even quality AAA material. Bring up Johnson and Bogosevic (sp). Signing Feliz was a big mistake. Jason Michaels and Sullivan only take up roster space.
With the exception of Oswalt and Myers, we have no starting pitching. Lindstrom and Lyon are the only bullpen guys who don't suck. I'm not sure about Lopez. He may have some promise.

I like Paulino, but team never hits nor play defense behind him.
Now, Norris is a reliever in the rotation.

You're right, Paulino is improving. He is the kind of pitcher we need in the rotation right now. And they do never hit for him. He is nearly as had luck as Oswalt this year. Rodriguez needs to toughen up, he hasn't pitched well this year. He was good for much of last year. You tend to pity any starting pitcher on this team because the hitting is so bad. Anyway Paulino is the big story today. He deserved a win in this one.

ok....now about Paulino....can he play 3rd or left field or short or catcher?....We need his bat in the lineup every day. He is the best hitter on the team.
Also, Iowa....I was hoping your prediction that Berkman was gonna keep hitting and stay ahead of Q was going to turn out true, but it looks likeQ is just to tough for the Puma to over take.
Come to think of it, can Paulino play 1st?

Berkman was good when he had people like Bagwell, Biggio, and other hitters in the lineup with him. Now that he is expected to be the big bat and lead the team, he is proving that he doesn't have the guts to do the job.

Bagwell was already washed up when Berkman came on the scene. Then when Lee came in and Pence started hitting , Berkman was washed up

Berkman quit hitting as soon as I said that. I think I jinxed him. I probably need to keep my mouth shut, anytime I say something good about someone they go bad. Paulino lucked out today. I think the glare in right field blinded the batters and caused no one to hit until the 10th. Everyone sucks, everyone include those that anyone says don't suck. But all the other teams other than the Astros have wonderful players, can't say enough good about them. I would lavish more praise on them but I don't have time right now.

I think Berkman is just getting old and playing old. Right now we are not getting much in a trade for him. Only good piece to trade is Oswalt.
Berkman, i was worried when i saw how many K he was getting with fastball in the middle of the plate, he is just not the same hitter he was 2 years ago.

He had a good game today. Probably some poor pitching. I don't expect the Astros offense to be effective. When they are it is always a surprise. Even Kevin Cash got two hits in this game. I imagine Quintero would have exploded with a four hit game. The only one that was his normal pathetic self was Lee. I noticed Blum and Berkman both made costly errors in this game. Blum was playing SS? That seems odd.
