Every year, he has the best team in the league and he almost never manages to bring them to the WS....Look at this year...he has THE best player and a starting pitching staff that everuone envies, but just as in years past, they just slug along.
From his days in Oakland with the Bash brothers he just couldnt bring them in, yet he is always mentioned as one of the greats. He reminds me of Gene Mauch that all the baseball announcers kept raving over. He never won anything.

I don't think he has enough offense, PUjols and Holliday, others are not that good.
Pitching, they have 3 top pitchers and a nice bullpen.

Now, for instances, Astros have 3 good pitchers, and 2 or 3 good hitters, look at the dfiference between both clubs.

you make a good point, but I would take any day the 2 good Cardinal hitters and 3 good pitchers over anything the Astros have.
The talent difference is huge.....but the point I am making is that LaRusa has advantages that he doesnt seem to get the most from

I am not thrilled with LaRussa, but our manager has been pathetic. I hope he doesn't let Drayton tell him who to start. I hope they don't renew his contract.
