I know we've said this before, but, what in the hell did we see in Jennings to make us give up Taveras, Hirsch, and Buchholz to get him? Purpura didn't get the deal for Jon Garland to go through, became desperate for a starting pitcher, the Rockies knew it and took him to the cleaners. We gave away three players for a batting practice pitcher. He has NO fastball at all.

You are probably right. But in fairness, Jennings is coming off an injury and the Angels are a pretty damn good team. They knock the crap out of the ball. You cant base the value of the trade on tonites pitching from Jennings. Trading for Jennings was a risk, no doubt and it could have and may still pay off. I would say that Jennings at this point wont be re-signed.
Plus... Hirsh, Bucholz and Willy werent exactly great. I would like to have Willy back in CF.

Buchholz and tavarez sucked..hirsch was a mistake...actually i wouldnt go so far as to say tavarez sucked but those bunting for hits doesnt really do it for me..The sad thing is i think that was garners deal as he seems to be swinging away in colorado. The guy can hit when he swings but he never did here and teams caught on....
jennings is a better than average pitcher and certainly the second best on this team

You cant beleive thats what I meant. Hunter Pence is running away with ROY and should be an All Star. Pence would go to RF or LF.

Taveras should be here playing center and Pence would be in right. I don't think Jennings is the #2 pitcher on this team. I'd rank him #4 behind Oswalt, Sampson, and Wandy.
