The Astros extended Brad Mills' contract through 2012 with a club option for 2013. I think this is a smart move........one of the few the Astros front office has made in recent years. Now, if we will just sign a couple of decent free agents........a catcher that can hit and a run-producing outfielder would be nice. Maybe Carl Crawford would give the Astros a hometown discount! An outfield of Crawford, Bourn, and Pence would be great.

I think Vega might have a point, we need a closer type pitcher. I don't see any of our current pitchers as closers, however we might have a great bullpen if we had a closer. Our starters are still pretty vulnerable. I am not sure I have much confidence in them through a long season. We have plenty of shortcomings.

I agree that we need a closer. Lindstrom nor Lyons are that good. Lyons is a good set-up man.

i like our starters, i would love to see crawford in lf for us.
I believe castro will hit for us.

I am not really big on Mills, but as I said before, it was a hard year to evaluate the manager. I feel pretty confident in the pitching coach right now.
