They send Figueroa to the minors and so we get Aneury Rodriguez. They do it after he gets pounded in his second start. This is the meaningless bs that we get subjected to as Astros fans. They don't have people that can play, they have no farm system so they have been acquiring castoffs from other teams and hoping that they can make something work. But they won't because they don't have what it takes. They have no depth. It must be frustrating for the good players on the Astros. Maybe some of them will start pushing to be traded. I wouldn't blame them.

i think is better to start watching the rangers, they have a good farm system and good major league players. Nolan has done a great job in Texas. Incredible, ASStros don't learn, they allow him to leave as a pitcher, and he did great in Texas, they allow him to go now as an administrator, and has done great in Texas. fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on Chandler?  |

I am sticking with the Astros. One of my weaknesses, Vega, is that I cannot switch teams. I think I could have switched teams only if the National League would have gone to the designated hitter, then I may have just got angry and quit baseball. However, it sounds like Drayton is on track to sell this team. That is the hope that I have now. They seem to be attempting anyway to build things back up. Where we are really lacking right now is pitching. Last year as well as the team pitched, it was a surprise. This year is no surprise. Our bullpen is a complete surprise in that you never know who is going to show up when. They may get something going, but probably only for a short time and then the bottom will fall out again. I still think somewhere down the road the Astros may get it together again. I don't think the GM is bad and the pitching coach should be kept. He has been given an impossible task ever since he arrived here. Oswalt started pitching well when he got away from the Astros but I would be surprised if he can do a whole season of it. He will have to go under the knife at some point.

He is already on the dl and it said that minor leaguers feasted on his fastball in a rehabilitation start. I think Oswalt will have an up and down season. He has some health problem which he says is his back. I wonder if it isn't more.

i know what you mean, we are ALWAYS going to be Astros fan, but, if we want to see GOOD baseball, we have to look elsewhere right now.

As you know, I have an extremely negative attitude toward the designated hitter. I can't watch the American league because it just makes me mad. In the National league, around here it is either the braves or the cubs that we can watch normally on tv. I am waiting for the time when the Astros are good and I am out of Grad school. Then I may have time to watch baseball again. Until then, I will get angry at the Astros until they win.

Well it finally happened. The Astros are finally going to owned by someone other than Uncle Draytie. I said that I wouldn't be back untill he was no longer the owner, so now I am back. I don't think Mr. Crane will be able to do much this season as he won't officially have control of the team for another month or so, but he can start working towards getting his management and ppersonnle staff together. He desperately needs to get his scouting department upgraded. The farm system is in total disarray and needs to be upgraded. Until a lot of things happen, almost all of the moves this team make will be meaningless.

Good to have you back Texiban. Drayton has really made a mess of this team. It is an impossible task to get this team doing anything when our relief sucks so bad.
