We have an awful team. Is impossible to enjoy watching this team play because is awful, not a good manager, and worse bullpen in the league.
A very bad offense, not a good Defense and a very suspect rotation.
This is a waste of time to watch this team play.

They are certainly awful. I had a feeling they were going to blow this lead today. Happ probably should have tried to stay in because the bullpen very rarely holds a lead. I really don't watch them. I just normally look at the score and then head to the john to discharge bile.

They finally swept a series. Not that it makes lots of difference, because they will probably get swept the next one. There are a few bright spots. Keppinger is back and has taken up right where he left off last year. Bourn has been really good. Pence has been way better than he has ever been before. Lyles looked good in his debut and Myers finally had a good game. Admittedly, both those were against the Cubs who are injured and not that great hitting when they are healthy. Anyway, they will probably all get swept in the next series.

We are doing well playing bad teams right now. Just wait till we start playing good teams. I would be surprised if we don't fall apart even before then. We need to stay at the bottom of the league and sometimes that is a struggle since other bad teams make it hard.

when you have pence hitting third in your lineup you know you have big problems.

I agree, Pence has had a good year, but even when he is playing well he is no 3 hitter. Then Lee after him, a double whammy.

yes, pence, on a good team is a 5th.
Now, the few positives, our 1b is doing good.

I can't believe they are not getting Bourgois playing time. He was really helping us for awhile. He was beginning to look like a future star. Certainly he was doing more than Lee. I am not saying give him free reign, but get him at bats, because he proved he can do damage.

This team is really in the dregs right now. Maybe they will end up the worst team in the majors. What an accomplishment.

iowafan the only good thing about that is the #1 pick. Though who has any faith they could get that right.

One thing good about baseball and that is any team can have things turn around pretty quickly if the management and owner do a good job running the team. Let us hope this new owner turns out to be a good influence. It will be hard to do well until we get rid of Lee unless the owner is willing to spend some money.

The 1975 team lost 97 games I think. I was looking at that roster, and the only player we have on this team that might have started for that team is Pence....Most would not have even made the roster.

Wilfredo Rodriguez has had a solid year, and Bourn. We have no catcher which adds anything offensively. Our first baseman is not really a major league hitting first baseman yet. However there are players which have shown promise. Even Lee hasn't had a terrible year. We mostly get beat in the pitching department.
