Decided I can't abandon the Astros because they are going to the American league. It isn't really their fault. Can't help but hate the commissioner of baseball though. I was talking to an elderly baseball fan who happens to be a Yankees fan, and I complained about the designated hitter rule. She said, "I just love baseball." I couldn't fault her logic. I still hate the designated hitter rule and every time I see it I feel like puking. It will be tough for me.

Whats the difference, with the DH you don't have to have three straight outs at the bottom of the lineup. Ha Ha

The problem is that some pitchers can hit. Those pitchers add that dimension to the game which gives them an advantage. If a pitcher can't hit, they had better pitch than much better to compensate for their hitting. The main reason is I don't like changing rules to provide for more offense. For me pitching is as big an attraction to baseball as hitting if not bigger. Therefore I am offended by the idea that home runs constitute baseball. That is what the designated hitter rule is about. For me, home runs is not baseball just a part of baseball. There are some idiots out there that would rather watch a home run derby than a baseball game.
