I think it's pretty clear what Ensberg can and can't do, and hitting is no longer one of the cans.
It's not like he's some young guy that might turn it around and improve, he's past that. It's time to move on, and try someone else at 3b.

if he is NOT the long term guy, then is a waste to play him instead of trade him. He is a FA, so why give him the at bats UNLESS HE IS OUR 3B OF THE FUTURE.
If he is, good, play him over Ensberg, IF NOT, then let Ensberg play.

Right now he is, but if we're out of it and you can get something in trade for Lamb, then you trade him.

right now means sh*t right now because this team is going nowhere. We need to play the future, not the present.
IF Lamb is the future, then he should play, if not, give the at bats to ensberg.

Ensberg's not the future either. He'll be 32 in August.

But he is making over $4 million this year, and he'll be headed to arbitration again after this year where he's more likely to get a raise or at least stay where he's at then take a cut. If Houston keeps him around knowing he could make $4.5 million + as a 32+ year old 3b who can't hit any more, then they are idiots.
Like I said, he's not the future at 3b, right now we really don't have anyone. I'd rather see them go hard after Lamb as our fulltime 3b and let Morgan walk.

I'd trade Ensberg for Paris Hilton. At least she'd be good for laughs.

Like i say, IF the Astros have Lamb as the future 3b, then he is the guy to play and let Ensberg go.
If NOT, then Ensberg should play and see what numbers he is going to give us and see if we are going to pick his arbtration.
I like Lamb but i don't see Mr. Big Mac signing him.

They could very likely keep Lamb in 08 for what they'd have to pay Ensberg. Whatever happens, I'm pretty certain that they won't have both players next year. It'll be one or the other or neither.

Ok.. let me get this straight... Ensberg should still be here next season because he is still under team control. It doesnt matter that he sucks and will be making huge money??
WOW... this from the guy JamesA annointed an internet baseball expert?
Ensberg doesnt need to be anywhere near Houston next season. He is a waste. If he isnt traded he needs to just be non-tendered.
Lamb isnt the long term future either. But you cant keep him till we find someone to play that spot.

Get rid of Ensberg ASAP. He's toast. Problem is nobody wants him.
