Damn.. dont go there. How can you question his knowledge? You dont know the minors like Vega does. I don't see where Vega made a statement as such. I've seen you on a couple of occasions display what appears to be jealousy over a compliment that someone else gave to Vega. I put Vega in charge of the minor league forum because I think he's got a great feel for the minor leagues. I also think Lamearm does too. What's the purpose of your comment anyway? Your post in no way contributed to the topic at hand. Mike's a knowledgeable guy and can defend himself (not that he was even attacked in this case).

So we let Springer go and instead sign White? ?? I remember at the begining of the year how i disagree with garner bringing White to pitch, yes he was not allowing many runs by then BUT I SAID, this guy is awful, i would not trust him in BIG situations, just look at the past. Well, the past was right, White is an awful pitcher and Purpura signed him and let a good reliever go, a guy that was the LEADER in the bullpen. Well, we have a GM with no clue of what he is doing. Pettitte, Clemens, Springer, Hirsh, Buchholz instead Jennings, Woody, White, Mohler Hmmmmmm, what a great GM we have.

Oswalt has a DIPS ERA of 4. He has not pitched as well as his actual ERA.
Bucholz has a DIPS ERA of 3.85. He's pitched much better than his actual ERA.
Oswalt's K's have been down all year, and his walks up. He just hasn't been the same pitcher this year.

I don't think Jennings got hurt. I think he was already damaged goods when the Astros acquired him. How much of a coincidence is it that you trade for a starting pitcher whose already got a track record of pitching a lot of innings then all of a sudden he get's traded and then get's hurt too early in the season?
Does anyone remember reading about scouts commenting that Jennings had lost velocity on his pitches as late as last season which to them was indicative of a pitcher hiding an injury?
The Padres possibly were looking for an out with Jennings before it became public knowledge that he was hurt and they found the perfect scenario in a desperate Tim Purpura who was looking for anything that had "starting pitcher" written on it. So they dumped Jennings on him.

Its turning out that TPURP has a problem with Pettitte Agent and thats why Pettitte left. He should get fired on that reason along. TPurp is not a good ML GM. In fact I would think he is probably one of the worse in last 20 years.

agreed.
Last 3 years, well 4 now this team is winning LESS games than previous year.
Our GM is not helping this team one bit.
Actually, only good move has been Lee and thats because HE WANTED TO PLAY FOR ASTROS and remember, Soriano was the FIRST option for Purp.
Purp is a moron.
