Good point.
Lame.. did you read the Justice column in the paper today. He goes after Purpura and Drayton. I dont blame Garner as much, although he has made mistakes, because of what he has had to work with. It is less his fault that Draytons and Tims.

Most of the blame for this mess goes to Drayton and Purpura. Garner has made mistakes but he hasn't been dealt much of a hand by the two morons at the top. Normally, I don't put much stock in anything written by Richard Justice but he is right on the money with this column. When you replace Pettitte and Clemens with Woody and Jennings, you know you are going downhill. I'm not as opposed to letting Andy and Roger go as I am to what we replaced them with. Purpura thought he HAD to get a #2 starter at that very moment and gave away Taveras, Hirsch, and Buchholz for Jennings. His biggest mistake was giving $12.5 million to a 40-year old pitcher with a history of injuries. That was ridiculous. Signing Lee and Loretta were the only smart moves fat, little Timmy has made.

I dont know about any of that but according to the paper today one of the reasons we let pettitte go was because of his agent...doesnt rocket have the same guy?

If the reason the Astros lost Pettitte was becasue TPurp didn't like his Agent he should get fired for that reason along. Agents will have players and in order for a GM to get quality players sometimes he has to deal with the scumbag Agents. So he has to put personal dislikes aside and get the job done.
Once again TPURP should be fired on this item along. less long all the other crap the team is in. Its his fault we had Lane for two years and Ensberg and rest of the crap players Garner is stuck with.

Im sure lee is kicking himself for signing here..Then again his salary may soothe the pain..theres no way loretta and lamb will come back...loretta doesnt have a whole lot of time left and probably wants to win..not going to happen here.

Not this year, but 08 and beyond are not out of the queston. Just as bad as they are this season they could be that good next. Alot of money coming off the books this offseason.
