Maybe we dont need any black players.
This guy has NOTHING.

The sad thing is that Brown and JD said that the Astros evaluations of pitchers at RR showed that Randolph was by far the best pitcher down there. If that's the case, all of them suck and we can expect no help from them.

It's mindboggling that someone who was so good at AAA can be so horrid in the big leagues.

It's not that you shouldnt' trust them, you should know what to look at and what's most important.
In 34 2/3 ip down there, he only allowed 17 hits, and he struck out 57 guys and only walked 9. That's a very good set of numbers, albeit in a small sample size.
I'd bet that, given a decent number of innings, Randolph would cut that ERA down to around ~4 or so, but we don't have the luxury of giving him that shot IMO.

Why is it surprising Randolph was "so good" at AAA and so bad in the show? A quick look at his record indicates to me that he always has been and always will be a AAA pitcher.
Like the guy said:"Stats are like bikinis, they show a lot, but not everything."

Chandler, i disagree, i think we HAVE the luxury. This team is going nowhere so playing these guys is no problem.
The thing i like about Randolph is he IS NOT walking people, that was his problem in the past. Always good stuff, bad command.
I think we should stick with the guy and see what he has, he was the best pitcher in triple a this year.
Also, only problem i had last night was garner not using scott.
I believe we need to play the young guys and forget about Bruntlett, he is not a regular player.

I hate to say it, but I am not sure we have any pitcher that could get a twinky team out right now.....Wheeler, White, Qualls...Hell...any of em have taken turns stinking up the joint...oswalt isnt oswalt this year...we suck at every single facit of the game...The only thing worse than us not being able to get base runners early this year was getting base runners later and discovering they couldnt score on a home run
were it not for pence, this year would be a total waste.
makes me yearn for the days of roman mejeas an Showboat Aspromonte

I was wondering which year was worse, this year or 2000. Hands down it has to be this year.

The only bright spot to this season is definitely Hunter Pence.

Carlos Lee has been a bright spot too.
In an effort to become a decent fielder, he could stand to lose 30bs.

Lee could also try to improve his baserunning. He makes as many mental blunders as Lance Berkman.

Lee has always been a good player..The type of guy who will hit 30 hr's, bat .300 and drive in 100 rbi's..those players are always great to have..he isnt a superstar though..dont get me wrong he is great, but not 100 mil great

I think its also helped drayties pocket book..great latino ballplayers have a large fan base when they play here..bringing a latino of lee's stature is huge revenue..from jose cruuuuz, moises alou and carlos beltran, the latino community is more likely to go to the games and spend money
