LOL...Ya, its those 4 or 5 30+ yr olds taking up space...This whole org is run like sh*t....Isnt towles in the futures game? I'd much rather run the 2/3 of the three stooges(ausmus/munson) out there and bring in rick white, miller or famous amos in place of someone from the farm

We're the only organization in the NL who brags about how many 30 year old rookies we have.

wtf? why isnt this guy in at least round rock? And towles? The fck else do the astros have going on? Douglass actually was up in Round Rock earlier this year and he got slammed hard. He is doing a lot better this year. I could see him moving up to AAA sometime this year. Towles just recently jumped up to Corpus, and after starting out rough, he's really doing a good job lately. I doubt he'll see Round Rock before 2008, but I could be wrong. Of course, if Quintero continues to stink it up down there (and Ardoin is not a serious option for the bigs), then he could move up quicker. He's really the only catcher in the organization hitting. The Astros are notoriously slow about moving guys up, but you can hurt a guy by moving him too soon. Not always, of course.

Our entire bullpen must have been brought up at birth.

well thats just stupid no matter how one slices it...i dont understand why they keep running these failures out there? The season is over and i really dont see why we cant keep up with garners usual switch em around thingies...Bring patton, towles, douglass and a few others up...Cut white, miller and palmeiro..Trade ensberg, lidge, loretta and jennings...and build around pence and oswalt....lee isnt going anywhere as nobody wants to pick up the 100 mil

Hate to break it to you guys, but *every* team in the league has has-beens and never weres in their minor league systems.
Like I said earlier, the #1 goal of the minor leagues is player development, but they have to be able to field a team. They often sign some old guy as roster filler and emergency insurance in case some freak injuries occur and you need him.

bring patton, towles douglass and a few otehrs up... As I've pointed out before, those guys aren't ready. Patton's too inconsistent. He'd get lit up in the big leagues right now. Towles might very well be our catcher in 2008 if Ausmus decides to step down

I would like to see them call up some of these AAAA tweeners we have and see if they can play. There's lots of guys at AAA that they don't really peg as big leaguers, but you might catch lightning in a bottle.
Let's take a look at Tim Raines Jr, Mark Saccomanno, Josh Anderson, Mike Rodriguez, Brooks Conrad, McLemore, etc and see what they got. They don't expect much out of any of them (save McLemore), so see how they do in the bigs, if they don't make it, send em back to RR, put em on the bench, and let the kids you moved up from AA keep playing AAA ball.

Exactly! i couldnt agree more..you dont keep them here to get hammered over and over and shake their confidence, but at this point a little beating wouldnt hurt...They would be in great company with people who know the feeling.

McLemore was up and pitched well so what did we do, send him down for a guy who specializes in 6 run innings. Makes no sense. This guy is a lefty, 27 years old, has done well every year at every level and still no chance.
Look at how long it took them to give Sampson some meaningful time. Crazy, just crazy.
Every year we start out for sh*t and then come on. This team does not have the parts and pieces to come on. The hitters can not field, the fielders can not hit. It is really a mess.
The only thing to do is to take a look at the farm and see what we have so we know what we need over the winter. Not really rocket science.

I've been saying that for a long time now.
I want to see Gutierrez instead of Woody.
I want to see McLemore instead of Miller or White (i have no problem with Randolph)
I want to see Burke over Biggio.
I want to see Ensberg over Loretta. Now, if Lamb is our 3b for next year, then play him at 3b the whole year.
I want to see Scott play, no Palmeiro, ect.
I want to see Qualls close games and see if he is able.
