I know it's hard to feel very optimistic about much these days where the Astros are concerned. Even the eternal optimist inside me is struggling these days. I have at times found myself showing lack of interest if fo no other reason than there isn't a lot to feel optimistic about.
If however we take the totally optimistic POV, we are better than the Yankees. They have one fewer loss than we do, but we are better off in the standings. 7.5 back vs. their 14.5 back. Ok so you could compare the divisions but this is the OPTIMISTIC forum remember? If nothing else, it should make us feel better about losing Roger to those blowhards.
Not to use any tired old cliches but there is plenty of time to come back. No one is running away with the Division and we have certainly shown we have the ability to make comebacks. Both as a season progresses and this year as a game progresses.
I don' t think that this team, were it to make the playoffs, we advance, but I do think that there is time to find teh team that could advance.

Not any more. 13 games back and 13 games under .500. This is what happens when a has been manager and a never was GM are making the calls. Draytie does not care if this team wins or loses as long as ignorant fans keep filling the seats and his pockets are filling up, nothing will change. It seems that this is a problem with all of Houston's teams. Must be something in the water at the respective venues.

Did you just drop a turd in the punchbowl? Two demerits for you. No demerits, we just scoop up the turds and put them in a different bowl. Thats all.

I agree with tex...The comparisons may seem similar now but in the end the yankees will no doubt be closer to post season then we are..at the very least its easy to say they have the tools to do it...The astros have zero bright spots outside pence...The astros will have this same sh*t going into the second half...The yankees will spend whatever it takes for their missing pieces..Thats the difference..One team will do whatever it takes, the other will do exactly sh*t

hembo.. does it really matter if you finish 15 games out or 30 games out of the playoffs? Nope. Losing is losing.
The Yankees payroll is $190,000,000. The Astros is $88,000,000. The Yankees better be closer to the playoffs. In fact they better win it all every year for that kinf of change.

You read what i wrote but heard what you wanted to....I said they have half a season to go, a free spending owner and more talent than most teams...they will be in the playoffs...astros were out of it a month ago

I read what you wrote. George aint spending no more money. Even he has a limit. Plus.. they arent one player away.
There are alot of team more talented than the Yankees.
I disagree. The Yankees arent very good and their rcord shows it. They just lost AGAIN 4-0. I thought Clemens was supposed to get great run support from that team. Roger lost again. How are they good ? Who do they have? Where is all that talent? They just cost alot of money.
Arod Jeter
Who ? Their pitching sucks. So who?
Rocket is done and the Yankees will NOT be in the playoffs. Bank on it. The Yankees are done as well. They cost too much they are getting old and just arent that good.
They have lost 4 in a row. They are 11 games out of 1st and 8.5 back in the wildcard. They arent making the playoffs. Talk about a GM that needs to be fired.
