I think we should trade him to LAA, Yankees, Boston, NYM, or Cleveland.
We need to improve big time at 3b, SS, and CF.

Trading Oswalt isn't the way to improve unless you get back a major league starting pitcher and TWO top prospects....a third baseman and a catcher. We do NOT need help in centerfield. What's wrong with Pence?

I think trading him now makes sense. You free up the remaning years of his contract and in return get a good few prospects. You will not get a good catcher because there are few at the MLB level i would trade for him and the ones i would probably will not happen. I doubt my Dodgers are going to part with martin for a 500 pitcher who has an almost 4.00 era..same for the angels. The angels arent probably going to give up a lot as they will probably have Arod next year..Say what you want but Arod is better than ensberg, regardless of what AB says...

The Red Sox want ARod.
It would be stupid to trade Oswalt. Look at the contracts that guys like Meche and Lilly signed and then look at Oswalt's deal. He's a better pitcher and he's signed for less money.

I wouldn't. I'd have a hard time trading someone with a career like Oswalt's and a relatively cheap salary (compared to other pitchers who signed FA deals) for 4 prospects that may not pan out. Pelfrey's probably a pretty safe bet to have a good career, but the other 3 are question marks.
Then again, I'll fully admit to being an Oswalt fan, and I don't want him traded for anything.

Oswalt needs to be taught to use his brain. He has pitched like a dumbass most of this season. How many big hits has he allowed on 0-2 counts? Way too many.

question marks? ??/ Milledge? Martinez? ?? Yes, vega, question marks. Both might be highly touted prospects, but neither have proven anything on the major league level. Lots of people aren't as excited about Milledge as they used to be. That's not necessarily my a$$essment.

Those guys are going to be top, top baseball players. Actually, Milledge should stay as a regular for the Mets this year.
Milledge has a very quick bat and is going to be AWESOME.
Martinez, he is going to be an All Star.
