whoever said we have been chasing a catcher above was correct..the best one they have had ended up playing 2b for 20 years..i also found out they use to have Buck at one point...catcher has been elusive for the astros for forever...3b as well...some one year wonders..who was the last good 3b they had? cammy? i didnt think much of him either..ensbergs one good year? The team has had some of the best pitchers ever come through here but either cant keep them or they peaked too late Outside 3b the infield has always been solid..bags, biggio, morgan, davis, doran, thon, watson, etc....catcher and 3b has just never been

btw..The bad news is seattle probably saw more than they liked in jennings outing..he probably isnt the guy they want to be able to count on in post season...tough to come back from 12 runs down....astros gave it a run but thats a rare deal in itself

Uh... Ausmus "was" a Gold Glove catcher Hembo.
You didnt know the Astros had Buck, but you can remember far enough back to remember you didnt think much of Ken Caminiti?? The guy who won an MVP in San Diego.
Probably the best 3rd baseman this team ever had when healthy.

Crash has been hanging in there with the team longer than most of us. Cut him some slack.

Crash.. I understand your point, but I think you overstate just a tad. This is hasnt been pretty crappy for a long time. They have been crappy in 06 and 07 but prior to that this has been a pretty good team for a long time, evidenced by the fact that only 4 teams have a better record than our Astros since Drayton took over. Thats all of MLB. Only 2 teams in the NL have a better record and not by alot, Braves and Cards. Now, we havent won a World Championship, thats true. That should now be the only thing that matters. But saying that Biggio will be in the HOF before that happens isnt a bad thing. Biggio will be in in 5 years. Just as a reference and because everyone seems to think this team is the end all be all, The Yankees have spent over 1 billion dollars in the last 7 years and dont have a WS Title. They only have 1 more appearance than out Astros. $ 1 BILLION. The Astros spent about 1/3rd that much. Thats a ton of money. This team will be in contention sooner than you think. The Astros dont need to spend $200 million per year to win it all. This team isnt that far off. 1st Berkman 2nd NEED 3rd Wiggington/Lamb SS Everett LF Lee CF NEED RF Pence C Need Pitching.. NEED. Oswalt Sampson Wandy This team is full of good quality bench/role players. It may be 2 years depending on Patton and some of the few young prospects we have and how much Drayton wants to spend. Why would you need to hang em up? What are you going hang up? Your eyes? Try and enjoy it. We have been spoiled for alot of years. We could be the Cubs or Nationals or Rockies. Hang in there. Its just baseball, not real life. I'm going to hang up my emotional spikes. Used to be I couldn't go to bed until I knew whether the Astros won or lost. Now I really don't care. I used to watch the games on HSE - and even the replay most nights. This year I only booted up mlb.tv to see Hunter Pence bat. Now there is absolutely no reason to watch the games.

The way Cammy went out of this world was hard to watch. The guy was way out of control.

he was a loser for sure...he was reduced to smoking crack in some cheap hotel..By far and away the dumbest man in professional sports(which probably explains the drug thing)If you ever listened to one of his interviews the guy was a babbling idiot. I of course never wished him ill, but he needed help for sure(obviously) no i dont feel sorry for him at all, and its a shame because i guess he was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back
btw coach...Have you ever seen the smoking guns all time baseball team? LMAO...check it out..its too funny...
