It would be really a great thing for someone to ask Morgan to prove that he is not a racist when he says stuff like Biggio dos not belong in the hall or for that matter some other white or latino player that has the credentials.
Racism will remain a dominate issue so long as there are double standards.

I sincerely think Joe Morgan is showing early signs of dementia/Altzheimers. Usually long term memory is the last to go. For example, I don't have a clue where my glasses are right now, but I still of a mental picture of the concession stand at the Little League park I'd run up to and get my snow cone - cherry was my favorite, followed by grape and lime; ugh, just hated the blue coconut - and pack of bubble gum cards.
You'd think a guy like Morgan would remember his first hit - type of pitch, location, team, pitcher, score, situation. For example, my first hit as a "major league" Little Leaguer at age 10 (most players were 11 and 12, I was one of two 10 year olds "drafted to the Giants. The other was a big fat guy who looked like Larry Mondello, Beaver Cleaver's friend). It came in about the 5th game of a 15 game season against the green team (the Yankees) against a right hander on ground ball up the middle. Now, imagine if I got a chance to get a first MLB hit
I think Morgan has an alcohol problem as the root cause of his dementia. There was a time I absolutely adored Joe Morgan - when he was the best position player on the team in the late 60's, early 70's. Then came grudging respect after the '72 trade. The love rekindled when he came back for the magical year of 1980 and soured after he threw his hissy and left. I then grew to despise him for his blatant racism and anti-Astro prejudice. At this point, I just pity him and his pathetic mental deterioration.

I heard Morgan when he was defending Bonds, I lost all respect for him. As a black man, he should be more appreciative of Hank Aaron and what he went through when he legally broke Babe's record than to igonore the the absolute crime that Bonds is committing. One of the traps that many members of Morgan's race fall in to is to justify bad conduct by members of their own race as some sort of socially acceptable behavior because they feel that they are being discriminated against. Wrong is wrong, Joe. Bonds is wrong, have some balls and say it.

Uhhh... I dont know why you put Bill Cosby in the group. I have heard him rail against the black hip hop culture to the point he gets called out by other blacks.

As usual, Hembo is wrong. Bill Cosby is NOT a racist. AB is 100% right.

In honor of Lame's passing, let's try to keep a friendly tone with each other for a little while longer. That's not too much to ask.
