This guy looks awful this year. Where would this team be with no Lee? Berkman looks worse and worse. I think he has 5 homers and 2 doubles? And to think there was a time a guy compared this guy with ARod and Pujols.

He's definitely not haing a Berkman year. I think he's gonna catch fire at some point this year. Let's just hope it's not too late when he does.

The only reason he may not be a 'superstar' is because of the market he plays in. Either way, you're arguing semantics there, aren't ya?
The guy's an elite player. He's not great because he hits 30hr and 100rbi. He's great because he hits for high average, gets on base pretty much more than anyone not named Barry Bonds, and he (usually) hits for a ton of power.
Many guys in baseball do not put up the career stat line he has so far: .303/.416/.559.
BTW, not counting this year, he's never hit as low as .285 in a full season.

Many people?
His OPS right now is 16th highest of all time. His OBP is 24th highest of all time and his SLG is 21st highest. So no, not 'many' people have put up the numbers he has so far over his career.
Of active players, ONLY the following have better career OPS: Bonds 1.0524 Pujols 1.0378 Helton 1.0228 (Coors) Manny 1.0044 Thomas .9856 Thome .9760 Berkman .9759
Below him: Vlad .9756 ARod .9610 Giambi .9514
Best switch hitter in baseball right now.

You can count on Berkman to do his best Bagwell imitation........leave runners on base.

OPS is what? So what if his on base and slugging are good? Hows the fielding, running, clutch thing? Lets compare everything. You cant throw out 1 stat nobody uses, really. I can see using the slugging or the OBP but that OPS has always been bullsh*t.

Berkman attempting to bunt is asinine. Him bunting looked about like Lee's baserunning.
