You cant throw out 1 stat nobody uses, really. I can see using the slugging or the OBP but that OPS has always been bullsh*t. Dude this isn't the 1970s. Even traditional broadcasters are starting to mention OPS. They realize that knowing how much power a guy hits for and how often he does NOT make outs is actually a good measure of his performance, much better than relying on batting average alone. Slugging and OBP have been proven time and time again to correlate the closest to runs scored. Anywho, like vega said, he's not been the same hitter so far this year. His power is inexplicably gone. What's up with that?

Berkman is killing this team.
This team has too many holes to win the division.
This team looks awful.

The Chronicle writer who said the Astros can't win with 5 automatic outs in the lineup hit the nail on the head. We MUST get rid of dead weight like Ensberg and Lane.

Continuing to run Ensberg and Lane out there is a mistake at this point.

I'd put his ass on the bench for a game or two. He sucks.

im not opposed to that either..this sport is a 'what have you done for me lately' type thing. I wouldnt care if he had won the triple crown last year. This year he is horsesh*t. I know he has a high OBP but so what? That means he is pulling ensbergs instead of swinging the damned bat. Ensberg had a high OBP last year too and we all know how well that turned out 'whew, i got ball 4, lucky me'

He needs a fire lit under his ass. He is just too damn lackadaisical to suit me.

Ensberg got lucky and hit a home run off Zito so this probably means that Garner will keep this dud in the lineup for at least a week.
