Pettitte and Clemens made the right choice going to NY.
They are very, very close to the wild card if not ahead.
AStros are awful.

Vega, I wish you had Clemens, Pettitte, and the Yankees paralleled parked up your ass. All of this sh*t about those two is getting old.

Can somebody remind me again of why the Astros traded Dan Wheeler?
This game would have ended with the Astros wining 4-3 if: 1. The Astros had a manager who actually has a functioning brain - why do you have your 3rd baseman hugging the line with runners on base and the relief pitcher throwing 98 MPH fastballs to to the righthanded hitters batting against him? Had he set them at double play depth the game would have ended on one of the two routine grounders hit to Wigginton's left. As it stood, with Wigginton hugging the 3rd base line, he was lucky just to get to those ground balls hit to his left. Mr. Garner apparently decided that even though his relief pitcher was throwing 98 MPH fastballs, he was still worried about the righthanded batters getting around on that pitch and pulling it down the line for extra bases. My problem with that is, if the hitters actually could pull those Brad Lidge fastballs, Lidge had no business out there pitching anyway. Mr. Stupid....or manager, or whatever you want to call this idiot, helped give this game away with his inane defensive setup.
2. I don't know what kind of pitches that Brad Ausmus was calling but from what I could tell, Brad apparently must have dropped acid between innings. That was some of the most idiotic pitch calling by a catcher I've ever seen. Ausmus had Lidge nibbling at the outside corner, throwing soft tosses inside when Lidge was throwing an overpowering 98 MPH fastball and a backdoor slider that was causing righthanded hitters to wet their underwear but Ausmus seemed to call for those two pitches maybe 3 - 4 times the entire time Lidge was on the mound in the top of the 9th. Ausmus seems to have fallen in love with the outside corner of the plate setting up out there continuously when Lidge had two pitches working great for him but seldom used it.
If your going to get beat, make the hitters beat you with your best pitch and not on some shi*ty off-speed stuff that Ausmus continued to call for.

Everybody is quick to blame the catcher..I dont understand why people are supporting Lidge at all costs? i know for fckn fact people would be trashing him if he was elsewhere. theres nobody here that wouldclaim he is good if he were say a met or cub.

The guy *has* been good this year. You can't ignore a season's worth of good performances (and stats to back it up) and point to two appearances this week as proof that he 'sucks'. Lidge made a good pitch and a good hitter hit it a long way.

Tim made a mistake and a forum member SAID the yankees were bad and going NOWHERE.
I TOLD that forum member, Yankees have a GOOD team and will do battle for the playoffs.
Astros made a big mistake not going after these 2 guys, BIG MISTAKES and instead going after Woody and Jennings, lmao

I agree that going after Woody and Jennings were major mistakes. Both have sucked. I think they are a combined 8-19 and Woody leads the league in home runs allowed. Jennings would be challenging him for the top spot if he hadn't spent all that time on the DL. These two guys must go. Draytie needs to dump Woody even if he has to pay him off.

Lidge made a good pitch and a good hitter hit it a long way. You know, this series was our last chance. We came in, what 8.5 games out? We sweep the Brewers and we're 5.5 out and have an actual chance. Put Lidge in with a season on the line and he s*cks big fat donkey d*ck - eats big piles of stinking dog sh!t. It is absolutely uncanny. The very sight of his sorry a$$ gives me the urge to vomit. So I don't watch the Astros anymore. I checked the score and just knew Lidge must have been in there s*cking donkey d*ck YET again. It is nice to detox from baseball this way. I look forward to the day when I don't even bother to check the score anymore. It migh4 even come today. This franchise is welcome to eat the corn out of my sh!t. I'll even toss in a bag of $6.00 peanuts for Pukepura to spice it up for the fat a$$.

NO Vega.. you said the Yankees would MAKE the playoffs. They may, but I dont blame the Astros for not spending $40 freaking million dollars on 2 players who arent worth that much money. They were too much of a risk. They havent pitched that well.
If you want to suck Clemens/Pettittes jock, go ahead. The only reason you do it is to get at me and stir sh*t up and because it is anti-astro. So go right ahead.. but you look stupid doing it.
