You finally reached your goal. You are now in last place in the weakest division in baseball. Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse. In 2005, we go to the World Series. And now, thanks to Drayton MacLane and Tim Purpura, we occupy the cellar in the piss-poor National League Central. We can only imagine what these two geniuses are prepariing to do this off-season. Maybe we can trade three more young players for another pitcher who throws 85 mph and has arm problems? Maybe we can sign another 40-year old pitcher to a two-year deal worth $12.5 million. Maybe we can package Hunter Pence and Troy Patton for a 35-year old catcher and a career minor-leaguer. Stay tuned as the Astros continue toward their goal of being the worst team in baseball. Go Drayton Go!!!

Speaking of sucking, what about the great Lance Berkman? Hasn't he really stepped up during this homestand? A little over a week ago, we could have been back in the race..........now, we are just pathetic. Oswalt misses a start, Lee is slowed by an injury. Our defense still sucks. I still say it ought to be against the law for Mike Lamb to put on a glove. Did I mention that Lance Berkman SUCKS and is being paid about $14 million to stink up the place. And our bullpen!! Ain't they good? Especially that great lefty specialist, Trever Miller!! He and Borkowski are forming a dynamic duo like Batman and Robin. This team sucks so bad you have to laugh.

.320BA .455OBP .560SLG Those are Berkman's stats for the last week. Cant put this on him. JB, the problem with this team is outside of Berkman, Lee and Pence and maybe Scott this Astros team is full of nothing but utility type role players. Not starters. Lamb, Loretta, Bruntlett, Burke an aging not great Biggio, Ausmus etc etc ... Thats what it wrong with this team.

and aging not great Biggio? ?/ Incredible, not great a .290 OBP? ??// i WOULD SAY, HE IS AWFUL. Second, my PREDICITION was the ASStros were going to be CLOSER to last than first. Well, we are not closer, WE ARE IN LAST PLACE. By the way, Cards are only 4 games back.

At least Baby Huey did something today besides strikeout and hit into double plays.

JB, you are complaining about a guy that is projected to score 99 runs, hit 30 homers, and knock in 103 runs all during one of his worst years.

Just because he's "projected" to do it doesn't mean it will get done. The horrible start Berkman got off to is one reason we find ourselves in the division cellar. We know what the others are.

The "projected" figure is based on what he has done through yesterday's game. Even you have to admit he is hitting much better than he did the first half of the season so this projection will probably be on the low side. right now he has 79 runs scored, 24 homers, and 82 rbis.
