His win/loss record? What would that prove?

It would prove how successful his team was on the days he pitched.

BOOOO! ;D
What would that prove? ;D
What they really need to do is just start from scratch. The Lastros are in a re-building mode regardless of what McLame says.

The Astros are in a rebuilding mode due to the constant meddling and bungling by Draytie.

Since he purchased the team in 1993, the Astros rank fourth in the Majors and second in the National League in winning percentage ( 541) over 14 seasons from 1993-2006. The team has won 1,191 games while losing only 1,012 during Drayton’s 14-year tenure of ownership.
Lord knows we sure do not need any more of Drayton's meddling in this team's affairs. Drayton has his faults, there is no doubt of that, but overall I would say he has been a good owner for the team.

This is true. However, he also had players in their prime. Bagwell, Biggio, Reynolds, etc. Now that he has a weakened farm system due to illogical and imbecilic trades(See Jennings for example), he does not have the knowledge necessary to fix what is broken. He needs to let the next GM have a reasonable (110,000,000.00 give or take 5,000,000.00)payroll and the latitude to make the necessary trades and find the young talent for the farm and keep his meddlesome, grubby little paws out of the dough.

He has the same thing now with Berkman, Burke, Oswalt, Lee, ect.
You assume this to be true. We do not know if he has the knowledge to fix this or not. There have been some bad trades, certainly, but every team makes bad decisions every once in awhile. It happens that several bad moves were made in a row, and some players who were suposed to perform did not... Ensberg, Lane, Wilson, ect.
Of coarse you think 110M is reasonable, but who is to say what is reasonable with another person's money? As far as talent is considered, I am sure it would be nice to always make the right move time and time again but it just does not work out that way.
However, there is little reason to assume that Drayton will not make the needed changes to make this team a playoff contender as they have been over the last 15 years. The sky fell in 2000 as well, but we were right back in the hunt the very next year.
