There is also a rumor going around that Ed Wade may be a front office exec and that Ruben Amaro Jr is the next GM. So who knows. Wade is coming in for a second interview.

Hiring Wade is a mistake. I'd take Amaro or Bob Watson and my choice would be Watson.

I listened to the news conference and the guy seems like he has the experience to do the job. But, if he has to be Drayton's lapdog and "yes man" like Purpura was, then, we won't get this team back on the right track. |

This was definitely a Tal Smith hire....everybody else was just along for the ride. McLane and Gardner were onboard at the press conference merely as props. Tal was pulling the strings on this one.

ya, a guy who got thome, howard, rollins, utley and cole hamels...sure cant use him here..who did he lose? rolen thome and wagner? wow...rolen had like one great year since leaving philly and thomes days were numbered(obviously) wagner was a loss though..i think he lost abreu as well but he is too old now anyways
