If he got a bucket of balls, I already give him thumbs up.

Good to see he realizes Lane is worthless. Hopefully he figures that out about Palmeiro & Ausmus. How Ausmus is still getting PT is beyond me, at least I can understand why Biggio still is even if I don't like it. But Ausmus?
And as a sidenote, I like how the Padres are the place to dump our trash now.

I wish he had dumped Palmeiro and Woody Williams on the Padres, too.

I like this guy already. I would think the rest of the dead weight on the team is getting a tad nervous right about now.
Palmiero will be gone soon enough.
Woody... well, I would imagine he will be back unless he retires and cuts a deal. He wont last if he doesnt pitch well. But then again, it depends on whether they think the 2008 Astros are actually in the race or they are 1 year away.

Yeah. I like the fact that Wade isn't sitting on his hands waiting for other clubs to call him. He is taking the initiative. Far cry from PooPoora.

I didn't see this when I posted the other thread. Sorry.
Regardless, Lane had his chance here and didn't so much with it.

he needs to shop everett, ausmus, qualls next If he shops Everett without getting a guy like Miguel Tejada in return, he's a damn fool. In fact, I'm opposed to shopping him. Ausmus needs to stay as a backup catcher to JR Towles. If you can make a good trade for No Balls, let him go.

tejada is a little reaching ...i'd trade him for a lot less than you but i think most would take michael young? Not bad on defense and about 10 times as good on offense..we can keep having these silly arguments about everett but the bottom line is offense is a lot more urgent now than a guy who saves a few runs here and there...he sure as f**k wasnt going to save enough to keep them out of 3rd or 4th place this year..thats all bullsh*t anyways..i'll argue with anybody anyday that fielding while important you dont keep a guy hitting .220 because he is good with the glove...not on this team anyways...
ok..he is so great...wheres the stat that shows how many rbi's we lost due to him in the lineup? he saves a run a game but how many times have there been guys in scoring position and he hits a popcorn fart? he is a horrible ballplayer..plain and simple

I would like to see us keep Everett. Not as the starter but as a late inning defensive replacement. Anderson too as far as that goes.
Lane's time came and went, as did Ensberg. It is time to reshape this team so that it fits our park and we can score some runs and utilize our facilities to our advantage. Let's hope the new guys do a better job than the old ones.

If Towles starts at catcher, we can afford to start Everett at SS. What has been killing us is having Everett and Ausmus hitting 7th and 8th in the batting order. Add those two to the pitcher and you had what was usually three outs in a row. Everett should remain our starter at SS.
