Dennis, lets see the DIFFERENCE between a Yankee organization and ASSTros organization. Same goes with FANS.
Yankees are NOT happy with this year, AND THEY WENT TO THE PLAYOFFS.
Astros are happy just to be IN THE PLAYOFFS, whenever they get there.
Thats a big difference.
Dennis and AB, if thats GOOD ENOUGH fine, not for me. If for a guy that is not good enough and for that reason is NOT an ASSTros fan, then i am not an ASStros fan.

Just out of curiosity, why do you use the word ASStros?
We get that you don't like the direction the team is headed. All other arguments aside of course. It does seem though that referring to the team like that, especially that way, is more indicative of someone who is a fan of another team than of someone who is a fan and simply criticizing their own team's performance.
I could see using Asstros, but the emphasis on the word ASS, seems a little silly. It strikes me as what fans (trolls) from other teams would do. Almost a childish insult. Read the astros.com message boards for plenty of examples of that.
To me.
Just my 2 cents.

I think that it's because the management usually acts like a bunch of asses. Let's see what Wade can do or if McLame is going to continue to meddle.

It's something you'd see a bandwagon fan do. Once they do start winning, it'll go back to Astros.

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, if i see the RIGHT MOVES i also say it.
Actually, i am on the record saying i like the Wade, Romero and Abercrombie moves, but we are still many moves from contention after 2 years screwing this organization.
Now, those fan that are ALWAYS in the bandwagon usually look silly because they defend MEDIOCRE teams instead of being tough on the organization because WE SHOULD EXPECT great things from the ASSTros, if we see mediocre play then we SHOULD be able to comment on that without hearing "fans" accusing us of treasoning or "bandwagon fan".
Reality vs Stupidity

Vega, its not that you question the direction of the team, as we all have, its in the delivery of the words.
If you are upset about the team and the direction its going then you want the GM and/or manager to change or be replaced. This has been done, yet you are still on some unreasonable rampage calling the team the ASStros.
Your actions and words dictate the frame of reference that people view you. And with the ever present venom toward the Astros and constant praise of the Yankees, the impression is not one of wanting the Astros to succeed.
If your opinion is that the Astros suck and are years away from contending, thats cool. However, don't be upset if someone says your wrong or you are going overboard. They have their right to their opinion too.
You know, as a fan, if the Astros spent 250 million dollars on payroll and could not even get out of the 1st round, I would be incensed, as would most folks on this board. I don't blame the Yankee fans for being pissed. But that does not make them the model organization in MLB. Far from it. Teams like the D-Backs and Rockies do it the right way and are being successful using smart leadership not high payrolls to get there.

There's a HUGE difference between people having intelligent discussions about the team's flaws and people whining over and over again about the same things and calling the team names like a 3rd grader. I can criticize the moves of the team without calling them Asstros.
Every time you do it you paint yourself as a bandwagon fan.

is moronic for a person to call another a bandwagon fan just for telling the truth about the ASStros, stupid.
I expected much more from you but like the teams in the playoffs, i've been WRONG.

We need one more run producer. We need a lead off hitter We need a top quality starter We need a top quality reliever That is a lot for one off season. I think constructing a line-up to score runs instead of getting Biggio his 3k will have the essential effect of adding a "run-producer". Just about anyone, including Oswalt on the days he starts, would be an improvement over Biggio leading off. Josh Anderson would seem to be a good candidate. Backe might be the top quality starter. Probably not, but he has a better chance than what we tried to get last year. That guy that threw about 100 mph - was that Paulino? (I wasn't following too closely at the end of the season) - might make a great set-up guy or even closer. I liked Dierker's suggestion of seeing if Scott could play 3B. I just can't wait for a season where we actually, you know, try to win games.b Last year was for the birds.
