I think that Lidge is a fine pitcher when his brain doesn't get in the way. I think that if we could continue to use him in the capacity that we have been using him lately, i.e. 7th inning type work, that he could thrive there for a while. I personally don't think there should be any rush to return him to the 'closers' role. Look at how effective Lidge was when he was the 7th inning guy in the Lidge-Dotel-Wagner set up. I think that you go with Wheeler until he falters and then mix it up. I think we have 3 guys who could all qualify in closers with Lidge, Qualls and Wheeler and therefore don't label them. Go with the closer by committee and alleviate the pressure somewhat.

either way...trade ensberg and lidge. sit biggio after the 3000 hits..its not a mistake they picked up loretta..he will be at second a day after biggio gets his hit
