arizona may unload conor jackson
pirates shopping jason bay
orioles shopping tejada and bedard
For the record these are unfounded..But those are wild names to just throw around... If they are available i think the astros wouldcertainly be wise to look into what the orioles want..this is like the 5th off season in a row they have shopped tejada
I also hear the Dodgers may hire torre..if he does go would arod follow?

I love Jackson, i would love to have him here. With him, this would be our lineup: 1. Pence cf 2. Burke 2b 3. Berkman rf 4. Lee lf 5. Jackson 1b 6. Wigginton 3b 7. Towels c 8. Everett ss 9. Pitcher Now, what can we give to AZ? Wandy and Nieves? ??//

Leave Berkman at 1B.
We need speedy OFers.

If we get Jackson, AND I HOPE WE DO, Berkman goes to RF.

well..as wild as this may sound..i dont think hitting is their top need right now...he offense is pretty much non existent but on the other hand its hard to score 8 runs or whatever these dandy pitchers are giving up..
They also need to make a move to shore up their closing game...need reliable mid relief as well....No, pitching is the astros first concern

WE NEED PITCHING!!! That should be the first priority.

It is amazing what impact adding a solid #2 starter and a solid 7th inning guy would have on the staff.
Add a solid 2nd baseman and what do you have - a 500 club.

Berkman has no business playing anywhere but 1B.
We need pitching. At least one solid starter and one more good reliever, not necessarily a closer but a good quality guy.
Now if we got say Tejeda, well that would be a big help. Move Everett to 2B and let Big T handle SS. Pickup a solid #2 pitcher and this team could contend in the Central for sure.

Everett to 2nd is the biggest joke i've heard so far this year.
Second, IF AZ trades Jackson to Hou Berkman WILL MOVE to RF.

If we were to get Tejada......which we will not......he could play third base and leave Everett at SS. I can't see moving the best defensive SS in the league to another position. If we were to get Tejada, trade Wigginton and put Tejada at third.

CJ at 1st? Please no. He's worse then Lamb with the glove and he a free-swinger. Those are reasons AZ is trying to move him. I watched him play most of the year here, not pretty. I'd like to see an upgrade in pitching and some speed somewhere. I love Jackson, i would love to have him here. With him, this would be our lineup: 1. Pence cf 2. Burke 2b 3. Berkman rf 4. Lee lf 5. Jackson 1b 6. Wigginton 3b 7. Towels c 8. Everett ss 9. Pitcher Now, what can we give to AZ? Wandy and Nieves? ??//

i dont like jackson..he has been hyped for a few years now and hasnt really lived up to it.. much like drew an quintan...i have no doubt most of the D backs will turn out better than average, i just dont see them being a tulo or pence......i would make every possible attempt at getting bedard...i would also inquire about schilling and tejada ..i wouldnt pay a lot for schilling but may as well ask....I would also start digging around in Bostons farm system...Some of those guys will be ripe for the picking..they have a ton of promise on the farm and they will either be gone or waste away down there..they have a lefty down there as well...if that team is intact(minus schilling) next season, they will not need those minor league guys..
I wouldnt mind seeing the astros trade someone like lidge for crawford..crawfords name comes up in trade talk all the time..now i hear delmon young as well
