Ausmus is saying the right things now. Let's see how he is when he is not the everyday catcher. Personally, I think he the most genuine guy on the team, he just can't hit.

I think that is well worth it. Getting Ausmus back is great now I have something to look forward to when I go to the games!!!

They couldnt have invested that 2 mil into removing that hill in centerfield? i do, however, think ausmus would make a great catcher..coming back to fill in as the bullpen catcher

Good move for Ausmus and a good move for the Astros.

i was kidding...actually he is going to get 2 mil no matter where he is at..thats actually a pretty good price for a veteran catcher...there are still worse catchers out there..i just wish he could hit .260...that would help out a lot

I think it is a good move as well by the Astros. I think the price is right and the knowledge of NL hitter and the game in general he can pass on to Towels will be priceless. NOW go get us some players that can hit!!!

This team needs one starter, one reliever and one hitter.
Number 2 starter, LInebrink and Hunter.

I think we need to acquire more than one starting pitcher. I would like to have Linebrink but I think we need to get a quality left-handed reliever which we haven't really had one in years. Keeping Trevor Miller is not the solution.

lefties will be in short supply...the most notable will be glavine..glavine and minute maid will not work well together...mid relief and starting pitching will be premium this off season and scarce to boot.

We can sign JC Romero.
I don't think we need more than one, lets say we get a guy like Schilling.
1. Oswalt 2. Schilling 3. Patton 4. Backe 5. Wandy/Woody
What we need is ONE GOOD pitcher, we have the others.

Schilling did not include the Astros on his list of teams he would negotiate with.

Wade has approached him.

Wade did approach him, for what it's worth, but the fact that we weren't on his list of 13 teams he'd consider initially tells me a lot.
