Lidge may be dead weight, I'm just trying to figure out what the buzz on Bourn is.

What are you basing that opinion on? I don't see much production from Bourn to even appoint him as a starter just yet.

The biggest buzz I see is that he played at UH. I haven't seen or heard that much about him but what I want to know is how many at bats did he have to get his 1HR and 6RBI's last season?
The Astros really need to start looking around this area for players fo the draft. There are more prospects in Houston than just about anywhere and they never look around here. They always look in the Dominican and South America.

He is better than Tavares, we FINALLY have a cfer. On this , we can Agree Vega. Tavares was fast and that was about it. He did not get great jumps on the ball and used his speed to make up for it. Tavares had a decent arm. His plate was questionable but he DID get better. He bunted and used his speed to a great advantage. I credit him for using the advantage he had. Bourne is already a better fielder, although I do not know about how good his arm is and has better plate discipline. I am also not sure if he is ready to play everyday. But it is nice to see a move from the front office that netted us soem decent young players for a change.

Cordero has been good the in Milwaukee. He sucked the first half of 2006 with Texas.

why spend money on a 2b when you need to PAY a lot of money for a closer and a pitcher.

Actually, now we have to sign 2 guys like Linebrink and Cordero.
Lets see if we can talk with Pettitte and convince him to come back. If we sign Cordero and Linebrink Pettitte could see a good team here.
1. Oswalt 2. Pettitte 3. Backe 4. Wandy 5. Woody
Closer Cordero 8th inning, Linebrink 7th inning, Qualls 6th inning, Sarfate
Needs a lefty reliever.
Lineup:
1. Bourn cf 2. Burke 2b 3. Berkman 1b 4. Lee lf 5. Pence rf 6. Wigginton 3b 7. Towles c 8. Everett ss 9. Pitcher
Patton could be ready at the middle of the season, same with Clemens, taking Wandy's spot (if not good) and Woody.

Now that we have traded Lidge, the next move I would make is to eat Woody's contract get rid of him. Having him in the rotation would kill us.

woody should be given a chance to see what he can do, if not, then give the ball to Patton and make Woody what Mohler was for us last year.
