Good move.
Players are getting stronger and hitting the balls harder. Older Coaches may not move as fast and may be looking away to coach a base-runner.
Protection is needed.

1st and 3rd coaches are ridiculous anyway. Just get them off the field and we won't have to worry about it.

Base coaches are an important part of the game. They're there to pass on signals and let the runners know when they can advance.

so maybe the astros should get a few of these base coaches then...show the players where home is...

oh..btw...people have asked why aluminum bats arent allowed in the pros..heres their answer..they probably shouldnt be allowed in college ball

Amen Chandler....anyone who thinks third base coaches dont impact the game never had to suffer through watching ole Salty Parker wave all those guys home when the catcher was already holding the ball...a batting helmet laying in the box empty with NO coach would have caused less damage.
